Other Concessions

Eligibility 

Indian nationals permanently residing in India and are at least 60 years of age on date of departure.

Required documents 

A valid photo ID with details such as date of birth like voter’s ID, passport, driving license, senior citizens ID issued by Air India.

Discount 

A concessionary discount of 25% of basic fare. This is applicable in selected booking classes of economy cabin.

Ticket validity 

Up to 1 year from the date of issuance.

Advance purchase 

Travellers using this concession must buy tickets at least three days before departure.

Children

No additional discount on purchase of tickets for children. 

Infants 
  •  Children under two years of age will be considered infants.
  •  Each infant can travel at INR 1250 on each coupon. Additional taxes shall apply.
  •  No discount is permissible on the second or more infants.
Ticket updates

You can modify the date or flight or cancel the ticket. You will receive a refund only after deducting a fee.

Additional info
  • Travellers shall be denied boarding if they fail to present relevant photo IDs or documents at check-in counters and boarding gates. Only taxes excluding basic fare shall be refunded in this case.
  • Concessionary fares are applicable on Air India flights only. They are not applicable on Air India Express flights or codeshare domestic flights.

Eligibility

A student in India enrolled in a full-time course of at least one academic year at an educational establishment. The institution must be recognized, aided, or affiliated with a central, state government educational board or university. The student must be between 12 and 26 years on the departure date. 

Required documents

Student ID card issued by an educational institute. 

Discount

Student concessionary discount is 25% of the basic Economy class fare. 

Travel
  • Between home town and place of study.
  • Within North East India and Kolkata when the sector forms a part of the journey permitted. 
Ticket validity

One year from the date of issue of the ticket.

Travellers using concessionary discounts must buy tickets at least three days before the date of departure. 

Ticket updates

You can change the date on the ticket or request cancellation of the booked ticket.

You will receive a refund for the modified ticket after deducting the fee.

Travellers must present relevant photo IDs or documents at check-in counters and boarding gates. Boarding will be denied if relevant documents are not produced. In such cases, the basic fare will be deducted, and the tickets will become non-refundable (only taxes will be refunded).

Required Documents

The Arjuna awardee is required to present a photocopy of the scroll or certificate conferring the awardee while purchasing a ticket. Bookings cannot be done online. Kindly contact the nearest Air India office for further assistance.

Purchase of ticket in advance 

The ticket needs to be purchased three days before departure.

Date/flight change, cancellation, and refund

 You can change your flight or cancel your ticket.  The cancelled flight amount will be refunded after the applicable charges are deducted.

In case the relevant ID/documents are not presented at the time of check-in or at the boarding gate, the basic fare will be forfeited and the tickets will become non-refundable (only taxes & levies will be refunded). 

Additional information

Concessionary fares are applicable on Air India flights only. It is not applicable on Air India Express codeshare domestic flights.
