Concessionary Fares for Senior Citizens
Seniors in India qualify for a discount on domestic and select international short haul flights, for travel in economy, premium economy and business classes.
Eligibility passengers are:
- Of Indian nationality
- Permanent residents of India
- At least 60 years of age on the date travel commences
Mandatory documentation
Any valid photo ID with date of birth, including a voter ID card, Aadhaar card, valid passport, driving license, or a Senior Citizen Identification Card issued by the Government of India.
Concession
Receive a discount on tickets in economy, premium economy, and business cabins for one-way or round-trip bookings within India territory.
To qualify for this discount, travellers must book tickets at least three days before the date of departure. Standard fees apply for flight changes, cancellations, or refunds.
Concessionary fares are available only on flight operated by Air India and do not apply to Air India Express codeshare flights.
- Travel: Applicable on any domestic route within India for flights operated by Air India.
- Advance reservation and ticketing:
- Reservations and ticketing for each travel segment must be completed at the same time.
- Waitlist and standby not permitted.
- Sales restriction: Concessionary fares can be issued from Air India city ticketing offices, airport ticketing offices, the Air India call centre, and from www.airindia.com.
- Sale and travel validity: Effective from 01 November 2022 until further notice.
- Discount is valid on both one-way and round-trip bookings.
- Fare rules for cancellations, refunds, rebooking, and reissues as per the respective cabin class will apply.
- Concessional fares are subject to availability of seats.
- The tickets are non-endorsable, non-reroutable.
- No name changes are permitted.
- Proper verification of valid ID/documents:
- Identity verification is MANDATORY and will be carried out at the time of ticketing at a city ticketing office or airport ticketing office and again at check-in points at the airport.
- Passengers must carry proof of identification throughout the journey. No one has the authority to waive the condition of documentation check.
- Boarding will be denied if identity proof is not provided at the boarding gate.
- Airport managers and duty managers undertake surprise checks.
- If required ID/documents are not presented when requested, the basic fare will be forfeited, and the ticket/s will become non-refundable. Only taxes and levies will be refunded.
- Identity verification is MANDATORY and will be carried out at the time of ticketing at a city ticketing office or airport ticketing office and again at check-in points at the airport.
- Free baggage allowance of 25 kg is applicable.
