Air India marks International Women’s Day with multiple all-women managed flights

  • 9 Air India flights operated by women cockpit crew with some complemented by women cabin crew, ground support, security, roster planning analysts, flight dispatchers, meteorologist
  • Women comprise almost half of Air India workforce and make 16% of pilots

In a powerful tribute to International Women’s Day, Air India is taking to the skies with 9 all-women managed flights, showcasing the expertise and leadership of women at every level of the journey. From the precision of the flight deck to the dedication of the cabin crew and the critical coordination on the ground, these flights are a celebration of the talent that fuels the airline. The 9 flights operated by Air India were on select international and domestic routes including London Heathrow, New Delhi and Mumbai were managed by all-women teams that included pilots, cabin crew, crew roster planning analysts, rostering personnel , flight dispatchers and a meteorologist planning and monitoring flights from departure to arrival, crew  flight controllers  and even female operations control duty manager overseeing flight operations.

This initiative isn't just about a single day, it’s a reflection of the airline’s ongoing commitment to an inclusive sky where the next generation of women can see themselves leading from the front. The initiative upholds the Tata Group’s commitment to diversity and promoting a level playing field for its employees.
