How to Redeem Flights on Star Alliance Partner Airlines
You can redeem your Maharaja Points on Star Alliance partner airlines through a process similar to redeeming flights on Air India, subject to availability and partner airline rules.
Steps to Redeem
- Ensure you are an eligible Maharaja Club member with sufficient, valid Maharaja Points.
- Visit the Air India booking page, enter your travel details, and select Points under the Pay From tab.
- Eligible Star Alliance partner flights will appear where award inventory is available.
- Confirm passenger details and your Maharaja Club ID.
- Pay applicable taxes, government charges, and partner airline fees in cash.
- Maharaja Points are deducted at ticket issuance, and your e ticket is shared upon confirmation.
Please Note
- Select partner flights can be booked online.
- Other partner redemptions must be completed via Air India Customer Support.
- Partner award tickets are usually issued per sector; multi sector journeys may require separate tickets.
- Changes, cancellations, and upgrades are governed by the operating partner airline’s rules.
- Codeshare flights may not be eligible for redemption.
- Seat selection and onboard services are managed by the operating airline.
- Cash + Points is not available for Star Alliance partner redemptions.
- Award seats on Star Alliance partner airlines are capacity controlled and visible when available.
- Use the Points Calculator to estimate the Maharaja Points required based on your route, sector, and cabin class.
- If required, you may buy Maharaja Points to top up your balance before proceeding.
- Asiana Airlines (OZ) will exit Star Alliance on 16 December 2026. From 1 December 2026 onwards, Maharaja Club members will no longer be able to redeem Maharaja Points for flight bookings or cabin upgrades on flights operated by Asiana Airlines (OZ).
- Asiana Club members holding existing redemption bookings on Air India for travel after 30 November 2026 will be required to make alternative arrangements. Members are requested to contact the customer support team for refund assistance or any related support.
